DESIGNERS & NAVAL ARCHITECTS

Nigel Irens

Nigel Irens is perhaps best known as a designer of multi-hulls that have broken long-distance speed records, such as trimaran used by Ellen MacArthur to break the world record for her solo circumnavigation in 2005. However, his design portfolio is wide ranging, and includes the Westernman cutters — an evolution of the original Bristol Channel pilot cutters — designed in association with Ed Burnett.
